Inspired by the movie Wolfwalkers
My intent with this photograph is to reflect themes of freedom and fear; how fine the line is when such an open space can be daunting, even if it is freeing. With the minimal items and dark atmosphere, I attempted to create a visual representation of dichotomy in the photograph. The dirty background with the clear glass cup and clean silverware paired with the plate made of bark further emphasize those emotions. The choice I made to give it a natural background goes hand in hand with the inspired medieval setting and the thematic connotations that go with that. There's a lot that can be said with silence, things that could be misinterpreted in silence which can be visually represented with the distorted shadows.
